Good vapour permeability and low level airtightness are the most important advantages of OSB 3 in comparison to standard MDF, Chipboard and other plywood alternatives.
Also known as OS’brace, this material is approved and certified by engineers for bracing of walls. OSB 3 eases installation and goes hand in hand with wood fibre insulation systems to achieve high performance buildings, and increase durability of the building envelope.
OSB 3 is known to be more vapour permeable and less airtight than its neighbour, OSB 4.
